Skyline Village Inn

Located adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 331, the historic Skyline Inn was built by John M Greer in the side of the mountain at the entrance to a cavern, where a moonshine still was located. Construction began in 1942 and was completed in 1948 financed by the moonshine money. Mr. Greer was a master carpenter and stonemason. His handiwork is present in the wood paneling, marble floors and wood inlay tables throughout the building. Extensive remodeling has respected Mr. Greer’s vision for this unique property. The hotel has one of the most beautiful views in the North Carolina mountains. Midway between Boone and Asheville, this is an ideal spot from which to visit and roam the mountains. Close to hiking, gem mining, and a wonderful starting point for many motorcycle riding loops, including the infamous DIAMONDBACK!

A Historic place to stay in beautiful Little Switzerland where the views are AWESOME. Guest Rooms and Baths are updated but still retain the original unique vision of the Inn. The INN itself is 12,000 square feet with 16 guest rooms, with all hand-made wood paneling. A specialty Wine & Beer shop, a Restaurant facility, and to add to the ambiance of dining, a deck was built which overlooks the Catawba Valley, with a 40 mile drop-dead view.
